Company Data Search

Organizations working in the oil and gas industry are required by statute to register with DEC's Division of Mineral Resources. Operators are organizations that drill or produce wells; pluggers are registered to plug wells; and drillers are authorized to drill wells for others. Some companies are registered for more than one activity.

Most well operators are required to maintain financial security to guarantee that their wells will be plugged at the end of their economic life and the site reclaimed. Financial institutions that provide this service are not registered with DEC's Division of Mineral Resources, but we maintain a list to assist industry.

The drop-down search menu allows you to build your query in a flexible manner. By default the search will list just Active companies unless you specify “Inactive” or “Both Active or Inactive” under Status.
