Under this search you can find all the DEC-regulated mine operators. Slightly over 20% of the mines are government-owned (County, Federal, Municipal, or State.) Almost 80% belong to industry organizations (Industry). Some mining operators own just one mine; other operators may own several mines. Under this search you can also find the financial security companies (FS Company) that provide financial instruments, such as bonds, CD’s or Letters of Credit. The Mined Land Reclamation Law requires companies to maintain financial security to guarantee a mine's reclamation when mining activities are completed. Unless you specify otherwise in your search criteria, the results will be for “active“ companies only.
