IMPAIRED SEGMENT

Introduction

This fact sheet contains the most recent water quality assessment information for this waterbody segment. The assessment is based on water quality data that meet the quality assurance requirements of NYSDEC’s Division of Water (DOW). An outline of the process used to assess the quality of New York State waters is described in the NYSDEC’s Consolidated Assessment and Listing Methodology (CALM).

WATERBODY INFORMATION
This is a water that shares boundaries with NYS and the Seneca Nation (SN). SN indicated its support for the inclusion of this waterbody/pollutant combination on the NYSDEC Section 303(d) list due to the shared boundary. SN also has indicated it does not waive jurisdiction over the portions of the waterbody within SN Territories that constitute Indian Country as defined in 18 U.S.C. § 1151. NYSDEC does not have any obligation related to assessment, monitoring, or restoration of waters within SN boundaries. However, NYSDEC is committed to fostering a collaborative partnership with SN regarding these waters with boundaries shared by NYS and SN.

Assessment of Best Use
