Description

The Roeliff Jansen Community Library, constructed in 2010, features several green infrastructure practices to provide educational examples of green building and sustainable development. This project was envisioned to be LEED certified. The site includes a large porous concrete parking area, two rain gardens, and a vegetated swale. A bioretention area in the center of the parking area is a secondary treatment practice following the treatment from the porous pavement.  The library property borders the Roeliff Jansen Kill.
